Catterick Racecourse
Racing first started at Catterick's dual-purpose racecourse in 1783 and although there have not been many equine stars visiting in the past few years, the track's tight turns put an accent on speed rather than stamina, which often makes for competitive racing.

Course - Flat: A left-handed oval track with a run-in of just over three furlongs. The turns are extremely sharp and the undulations make it awkward for a long-striding individual.
Course - Jump: An undulating circuit of a mile and two furlongs with sharp bends. The fences are relatively easy, but the sharp nature of the track suits front runners.
By Road: Accessible via the A1, Catterick is located close to the junction of the A66 (Scotch Corner). Free parking is available adjacent to the racecourse.
By Rail: To Darlington or Northallerton. A bus service between the station and the racecourse is in operation on race days.
