Ayr Racecourse
Ayr is Scotland's most important racecourse staging both its most famous flat race (Ayr Gold Cup) and jumps race (Scottish Grand National) as well as the prestigious Scottish Derby.
The Grand National Meeting and Western Meeting encorporating the Gold Cup, are both popular with the large southern stables and good quality is often on offer.

Course - Flat:
Left-handed oval track with a run-in of half a mile. Considered a fair tack with gentle undulations throughout.
Course - Jump:
A left-handed circuit of around a mile-and-a-half. The course runs downhill turning for home but then rises again towards the finish. It is quite sharp.
By Road:
The track is located in Whitletts Road, just outside Ayr, and can be reached via the A713 from the south, the A70 from the west or the A77 from Glasgow in the north. Free parking is available.
By Rail:
To Ayr station, approximately one mile from the racecourse. A bus service operates between the station and the racecourse.
By Air:
Glasgow airport is 45 minutes from Ayr and Prestwick airport is approximately 15 minutes away. Helicopter landing at the course by prior arrangement only.
