Woman Warns of Bomb Threat to Thwart Gambling
What’s potential jail time in the face of losing your life’s savings? Apparently, that was the thinking behind one American woman’s recent call to a Washington State casino when her husband set out to gamble a sizeable portion of the couple’s cash.
Prosecutors filed charges against Tamara Lee Gillespie, a resident of Enumclaw, Washington, after she allegedly made a February 21st phone call to the Muckleshoot Casino to warn staff members that her husband was en route with a fertilizer bomb. A witness claiming to have overheard the threat contacted the nearby Police Department, saying that Gillespie was worried her husband would wager and lose the money the couple had saved in order to buy a car. The casino boosted security but remained open.
When questioned by officers, Gillespie denied the accusation, but court documents show a call was made to the casino from her cell phone at the exact time the incident was reported.
