Million-2-1 launches iPhone application
Although the company Million-2-1 is more widely associated with online gambling operations, it has now broken new ground by launching its first iPhone application. The game, which can be downloaded from the App Store by iPhone owners, is one of the first instances that an online gambling company has released an application for the mobile device.
The new game is called Cleopatra and is based on one of the company’s online slot machines. Apple does not allow any applications to involve real gambling, and so there is no money involved. Instead, users play with virtual credits. The game also comes with a global leader board which adds a competitive element.
But Million-2-1, a subsidiary of International Game Technology (IGT), could still make a healthy revenue from the free-to-play game because iPhone owners will have to pay £1.19 to download it. It also allows the company to reach a wider audience. On top of that, if real-money gambling becomes permitted on the iPhone in the future then Million-2-1 will be in a good position to expand its operations.
