Dodge City Welcomes Boot Hill Casino
In a town that has not only inspired the great show “Gunsmoke” but also has a history that dates back to the Wild West, Dodge City in Kansas is now opening a new casino in this once-raucous cowtown. This new palace is called The Boot Hill Casino and they hope to revive and invigorate the gambling industry that once took place in this historic city many years ago.
With a complex that spans over 20,000 feet of fantastic gaming space, the Boot Hill Casino boasts 584 slot machines, and 12 tables for the various games of Roulette, Blackjack, Poker and Craps, obviously designed to suit any gamblers particular needs and desires. Combine that with an amazing hotel, restaurant and some great bars and you are looking at a destination that will rock your socks!
Dodge City at one time was known for its colorful characters and wild gamblers like Wyatt Earp, Doc Holiday and Wild Bill Hickok who all came to this town for its saloon’s and poker parlors. When this town started up in Dodge in the 1800’s the main industry was gambling and there were 18 or 19 saloons all which had a form of gambling.
It was ultimately the residents of Dodge who decided that the perils of gambling back then, because of the crimes that were associated with these games that gambling was banned. Now things are a lot different and the new resurgence of funds that are going into the economy for this area has made significant change!
