Throughout my famed career as a casino games guru, many people have asked me about Roulette; specifically, which betting system—Martingale, Fibonacci, Dopey Ex—yields the best results. I loathe this question, though I smile when I answer with whatever strikes my fancy, then turn heel before my curious inquisitor catches up. Thus, I have never proffered a truthful, thoughtful response to this query.

Good news OPA readers: Today is your lucky day. I am not only going to put this question to rest, I am going to list Six Tips for Winning at Roulette. Why six? Because five is an obvious bore, “seven tips” has no ring to it, and ten is simply too much work. Besides, six sounds like sex and that makes everyone happy.

So, here it is; the answer to the proverbial ‘Which roulette betting system works best’ question is: none. Sorry folks. Roulette is a game of luck, period. But be not dismayed. There are a few things you can do to increase your chances of winning and decrease the chances of losing your shirt. Below, Six Tips for Winning at Roulette:

1. Try to quit while you’re showing a profit. Do not bet back all of your profits simply because you feel “lucky”. Casinos flourish as a result of luck that doesn’t hold up.

2. Do not be tempted by earlier outcomes. The likelihood of locating a biased wheel is remote.

3. Play single zero (European) wheels whenever you can locate them. These wheels are very scarce in American casinos but abound online.

4. Do not ever play the five number bet, 0-00-1-2-3. This bet has the highest house edge in roulette.

5. Look for casinos that extend the surrender rule (or en prison rule) for even money bets. This rule reduces the house edge by a huge margin.

6. Don’t chase your losses. The only thing you’ll chase away is your bankroll.

Good luck.
